Muskham Primary School Fund For Aid In A Box

A box of aid has been provided for anyone affected by a natural disaster by pupils at Muskham Primary School.

The school raised £111.20 for the Aquabox Gold Appeal 2010, supplying water purifying equipment and survival kits to provide clean water and relief for disaster victims.

Pupils collected 20p’s out of their spare change over the length of a month. The money raised went towards buying an Aquabox Gold, which are designed for Rotary Clubs and other community groups.

Pupils Perform We Will Rock You

(This was published in the Newark Advertiser on 23rd July 2010 as part of my work experience.)

Pupils at St Peter’s Primary School, Farndon wore afro wigs and used inflatable guitars for a production the jukebox musical, We Will Rock You, this week.

Based on the songs by Queen, pupils have spent a month rehearsing for their performances held on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st July.

“We decided to perform We Will Rock You because I had been to see it in London and really enjoyed it,” said Miss Emma Thabreham, head of the production.

Swishing Party Raises Money For Diabetes

(This was published in the Newark Advertiser on 23rd July 2010 as part of my work experience.)

A Swishing Party where people brought along unwanted clothes and accessories to swap and sell raised £200 for Diabetes UK.

Penny Smith, of Barnby-in-the-Willows, organised the event in her garden last Thursday. “I was highly delighted with the outcome,” she said. “It has really made me very happy.”

With the help of a neighbour, Penny set up her garden with wine and nibbles. She invited friends and family to attend the night, who were asked to bring at least one item along with them.
