100 Films To Look Forward To In 2019

Captain Marvel (8th March)
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers, an ex-U.S. Air Force fighter pilot who becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn and Jude Law.

Avengers 4: End Game (26th April)
Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, the next Avengers instalment sees Tony Stark adrift in space with no food or water as his oxygen supply starts to dwindle. Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers – Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner – must figure out a way to bring back their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos.

Dark Phoenix (7th June)

In this X-Men spin-off, Sophie Turner stars as a young Jean Grey as she begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all the people living in the world. Directed by Simon Kinberg, the film sees the return of the prequel cast including Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Evan Peters, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

New Mutants (2nd Aug)

Based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name, the film is directed by Josh Boone and follows five young mutants who are just discovering their abilities whilst being held in a secret facility against their will, as they fight to escape their past sins and save themselves. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt, and Alice Braga.

Joker (4th Oct)

Joaquin Phoenix stars as the Joker in this DC origin film, as it follows a failed stand-up comedian who is driven insane and becomes a psychopathic murderer. Directed by Todd Phillips, the film also stars Robert De Niro.

Spider-Man 2: Far From Home (TBC)

Directed by Jon Watts, the film sees Tom Holland return as Peter Parker as he and his friends go on summer vacation to Europe, where Peter finds himself trying to save his friends against a villain known as Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal).
