Day 27: Iceland – Farms, Volcanoes, Waterfalls and Beaches

imageDay 2 of the tour and today was a lot about the effects that the many volcanoes have on the Icelanders and their farms. The Icelanders sure like to scare you, as we were constantly told that the volcanoes were all due to errupt sometime soon. As beautiful as Iceland is, I don’t think I could live with the fear of not knowing when one might errupt and how bad it will be!

We first visited a farm situated right under a glacier, which was badly effected by an eruption in 2010, though it is now up and running again.

And then we visited another little waterfall.

And then some of Icelands black beaches, black from the ash and volcano glacier rocks.

All around Iceland you find these parts of land filled of pilled up rocks, which people do for good luck.

And miles of the land is lava fields, covered in moss, which is fascinating.
