(Written for Lost In The Multiplex)

With the recent news that Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit is set to be made into three films rather than the initially planned two, we have the first set images of Gollum.

Whilst we may have already met Gollum in Jackson’s original Lord Of The Rings trilogy, it’s obvious that visual effects technology has gotten a lot better since then because somehow the little creature manages to look even more creepy… and realistic.

The two new images come from E! Online and show both Andy Serkis in his motion-capture suit on set and what his character looks like after being fully animated.

The first film in the now trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, is set to be released on 14th December.
