A new trailer has been released for the second season of the medieval fantasy series Game of Thrones this week, and with all this promotion over the last few months, the new footage in this quite lengthy trailer will undoubtedly get you looking forward to the series’ release in April even more.

Created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the series is based on author George R. R. Martin’s best-selling A Song of Ice and Fire collection of fantasy novels, with season two based closely around the second novel, A Clash of Kings. Set in the medieval fantasy world of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, the series chronicles the violent struggles among the kingdom’s noble families for control of the Iron Throne. As the new second season opens, additional threats from the snow and ice-covered region north of Westeros and from the eastern continent across a narrow sea are simultaneously beginning to rise.

The new season also introduces 23 new British cast members, which you can read about here, and, set to premiere on HBO on 1st April, you can see the new trailer below:
