UK supernatural comedy drama Misfits has been renewed for a fourth series, reported Broadcast on Friday.
The E4 series, which follows a group of young offenders undergoing community service, has been given the go-ahead to begin work on new episodes. The news comes after reports that creator of Gossip Girl and The OC, Josh Schwartz, is developing an American remake of the show.
The latest, third series introduces us to new addition Rudy (Joseph Gilgun), who will be joining the remaining four members of the supernatural ASBO gang – chav Kelly (Lauren Socha), sporty Curtis (Nathan Stewart Jarrett), party girl Alisha (Antonia Thomas) and socially awkward Simon (Iwan Rheon) – each with all new powers to help get them out of their constantly troubled situations.
Gilgun joined the show after Nathan (Robert Sheehan) left the show in his ‘Vegas Baby’ webisode. Seth (Matthew McNulty), who first appeared in series two’s Christmas special, has also become a recurring member, introducing some interesting new powers for the gang to experiment with.
The third series will conclude on Sunday night in the UK. As a big fan of the series, and a UK resident, I can reassure you that this latest series has been just as good as the first two, with both Gilgun and McNulty making a great addition to the already brilliant cast. You can look forward to seeing some old faces too, some of whom you probably wouldn’t guess. And how many probation workers do you think they will get through this time?
Well, you don’t have to wait long. After the series finale in the UK, the show will be available for American fans to watch on Hulu (for free!) on Monday (19th December) with new episodes weekly.
