This week Warner Bros. have released a featurette for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows which includes new footage and some commentary from British director Guy Ritchie and actors Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr.

Based on the character created by Scottish author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in 1887, Robert Downey Jr takes the lead as Sherlock Holmes with Jude Law by his side as Dr Watson. This latest instalment reunites the detective pair who team up with mysterious gypsy Sim, played by Noomi Rapace (The Swedish version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) to bring down the evil Professor Moriarty, played by Jared Harris (Mad Men).

The new clip, which can be seen here, shows more of the plot line and a lot more action, making this sequel look like it could be a brilliant follow-up to its hugely successful predecessor that was released in 2009. It also includes a commentary by the two leads and director Ritchie who describe the sequel as more exciting and more thrilling than the first.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is set to be released on 16th December, and the cast also includes Rachel McAdams (Midnight In Paris), Kelly Reilly, Eddie Marsan (War Horse), Stephen Fry (Alice In Wonderland), and Gilles Lelloucheon (Point Blank).
