With the start of the third series for UK’s Misfits this weekend (30th October), E4 have uploaded three new clips to give us a glimpse of what there is to look forward to.
Misfits, created by Howard Overman, is a science fiction comedy-drama that first aired in the UK on E4 in November 2009. The series focuses on a group of teenagers undergoing community service who get struck by a flash storm and consequently find themselves with supernatural powers.
The clips, which can be seen here, introduce us to new addition Rudy (Joseph Gilgun), who will be joining the remaining four members of the supernatural ASBO gang – chav Kelly (Lauren Socha), sporty Curtis (Nathan Stewart Jarrett), party girl Alisha (Antonia Thomas) and socially-awkward Simon (Iwan Rheon) – after replacing former character Nathan (Robert Sheehan) who said goodbye in his one-off ‘Vegas Baby’ clip, which can be watched here.
With the end of Series 2, the team are experimenting with new powers that they can now exchange, though some are not happy with the ones they have ended up with. Kelly, especially, dislikes her new ability but she has no money to replace it, whilst Rudy has the interesting ability of splitting himself in two, with each body portraying polarised personalities. We will have to see how this plays out, but for a first thought it looks like Rudy could be a lot of fun.
Hopefully the new series will become available to watch on Hulu (the first two series are already there) soon. Until then, you can read our post about plans for a US remake.
