New Trailer For Sherlock Holmes Sequel

(Written for BritScene)

Warner Bros’ Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows has been given its first full-length trailer this week, released by MSN, showing the return of Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law as Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick Dr. Watson.

Based on the character created by Scottish author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in 1887, the film’s predecessor was released in 2009 and took over half a billion dollars worldwide. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the beginning of this Sherlock Holmes franchise was hugely successful, and it looks like it’s heading in the same direction as we see more footage and story line from this new trailer.

This latest instalment gives the detective pair another tricky case full of fistfights and disguises, this time to bring down the evil Professor Moriarty, played by Jared Harris (Mad Men). The duo also team up with mysterious gypsy Sim, played by Noomi Rapace (The Swedish version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo), with the return of Sherlock’s love interest Irene Adler, played by Rachel McAdams (Midnight In Paris), and Dr. Watson’s soon-to-be wife Mary, played by Kelly Reilly, as well.

The cast also includes Eddie Marsan (War Horse), Stephen Fry (Alice In Wonderland), and Gilles Lelloucheon (Point Blank) and we will be seeing it in cinemas on 16th December.
