The first part of my day consisted of reading up about a local sculptor, Tim Shaw, who is holding an exhibition for his latest project, ‘The Origin Of The Drummer’. I then wrote a news story about this upcoming event, which will be used on Stranger Collective’s website. The article can be read here.
I then spent the rest of the afternoon being briefed on the Cornish Mining World Heritage. Their site is being redeveloped to make it more user-friendly. A team of writers and designers are working with Stranger Collective on this project to help make information more readable and the site itself easier to navigate. The section I helped to work on was the “Mining People and Society” section that included information about a miner’s home life and work life and aspects that coincided with this. I used information from their current website and put this into sections that will be used on the new website, editing the text and adding sub-sections to condense the text and make it easier to read through.
