Over £1000 has been raised for Beaumond House and Flowserve Ladies Football Club on a charity bike ride last Sunday.

Miss Gemma Streets, 23, of Boundary Road, Newark, is a member of the Flowserve LFC. She organised the bike ride from Newark to Skegness which took place last week.

Flowserve LFC are the only ladies football team in the Newark area. They originally wanted to raise money for their team, but Miss Streets’ grandmother, Jean Streets, recently died.

After seeing the work and how her grandmother was looked after by the people of Beaumond House, Miss Streets decided to split the money raised with their charity as well.

Members of the Flowserve LFC team, Miss Streets’s father and her father’s Skittle team, The Flintstones, took part on the bike ride and were sponsored by friends and family.

The money raised is currently being collected. Miss Streets estimates that between £1,000 and £1,500 has been raised.
